Presidental Race

Learn more about each candidate. Read their biographies and look at where they stand on each issue. Does it change your mind? Knowing more about their political backgrounds and where they stand, would you change your vote?
DIRECTIONS:Click on the link below, then select Obama on one side and McCain on the other. Look at each issue described. Read their biographies (there is a link underneath their picture). Did you learn something new? Was there an issue that you had been misinformed about? What is your response to this new information?

Writing
Your principal wants to invite a celebrity speaker to your school. Think about the celebrity you would choose to have speak; then, write a letter to persuade your principal to invite this person. Be sure to include convincing reasons and details to support your choice. Make sure you use correct letter format.

State Projects
I was very proud of the hard work and effort everyone put into their project. I have had several compliments about how great they look in the hallway. You all did really well researching your state and citing your resources on your project.
Our food celebration on Friday was great. Everyone had a great time and I felt it was a great way to end our unit. Students really made the connection between their food item they brought and how it represented their state.
